Black powder sorting line: extracting the essence of value from black mixture

Black powder (Black Mass) is one of the core products of battery recycling. It contains rich active materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and graphite. 

However, to further purify the usable metals from black powder, precise sorting equipment is indispensable.

Our black powder sorting line combines airflow sorting, density separation and electrostatic separation technology. Through crushing, screening and 

wind flotation, impurities such as copper, aluminum, and iron are gradually stripped off, so that the purity of black powder reaches more than 95%, 

laying the foundation for subsequent wet smelting.

In June 2025, the head of a lithium battery recycling company in Colombia visited. They brought local electric vehicle black powder samples and 

conducted sorting tests on site. The final results showed that the system was able to increase the recovery rate of active powder to 97% without adding 

any chemical reagents. The customer was very satisfied and said that a complete set of dry black powder sorting lines would be introduced locally for

 commercial promotion.
